S-beam load cells, also known as S-type load cells, are force sensors that measure tension and compression. S Type Load Cells are named for their S-shaped body.

S-beam load cells are known for their performance and versatility. They can be hooked up to a variety of load cell amplifiers (signal conditioning) to integrate with a PLC, DAQ or a local indicator. Each S-Type Load Cell has a threaded hole at each end, making it a very flexible solution. Different accessories can be added to the S beam load cell to add an extra degree of utility or accuracy, depending on your requirements. The threaded hole can also be fitted to a threaded bar, eyebolt, or rod end bearing depending on the manufacturer and the purpose for which the load cell is to be used.
