Miniature Threaded In Line Load Cell

Small, flexible, accurate
Description
Model LCM300 is a Inline Tension and Compression Miniature Load Cell built for Endurance, Press, or Inline applications. The standard LCM300 Threaded In Line Load Cell model has a very robust construction available in 17-4 Stainless Steel, with male threads on both ends and a 10 feet [3 meter] long 28 AWG 4 conductor shielded PVC cable. You will also find options rated for higher temperatures or chemical resistant Teflon cable readily available. For a higher capacity range please see the LCM325, LCM350, or LCM375. LCM Series load cell is a suitable option for heat staking pressure measurement applications.
The LCM300 Miniature Load Cell has Nonlinearity of ±0.25% and Deflection of 0.001” [0.03 mm] nominal. The standard LCM300 Tension and Compression Load Cell can be modified or customized to meet your requirements and most models are in our inventory making them available for 24-hour shipping.
Product Highlights And Features
- Minimal mounting clearance
- 17-4 PH stainless-steel construction
- For use in both tension and compression
- Utilizes metal foil strain gauge technology
- Adheres to RoHS directive 2015/863/EU
- Natural Frequency greater than 7.5 kHz
- Accessories and related instruments available
The LCM300 is a multi-dimensional miniature load cell that measures tension and compression loads in endurance, press, and inline applications that require a highly accurate sensor with a small footprint. It’s available in a wide range of capacities that range from 50 to 1000lb (23 to 454 kg). The standard LCM300 sensor can also be customized to meet your specific requirements.
The LCM300 is now offered with an integrated connector that makes it fully IP67-rated for high water resistance and temporary submersibility. The connectorized 4-position micro receptacle allows you to easily remove the cable from the sensor like a plug from a socket. This new feature protects the sensor from cable damage, as you can easily replace a faulty wire, and it also makes the installation process much easier, as there is no cable to rotate when the sensor is threaded into fixtures.
In addition, the LCM300 is also available in the original design, which features a cable connection with a 10-foot (3m) long 28 AWG 4 conductor braided shielded cable. This model can also be modified to suit OEM applications. FUTEK offers application and engineering resources during DFM/DFX stage upon request.
Made to be accurate
The LCM300 delivers a remarkably high natural frequency (starting at 6.1 kHz and going up to 29 kHz) which provides a fast response time that benefits accuracy and cycle time reduction. In addition, special design and manufacturing touches further enhance the sensor’s performance, such as a highly customized strain element that greatly reduces solder joints, increasing the sensor’s reliability.
Reducing error
A highly customized strain element has been designed to allow more strain measurement around the active sensor element, which reduces reproducibility errors from off-axis loads, and allows for an impressive 0.25% nonlinearity and hysteresis performance.
Easy mounting options
The LCM300 has male threads on both ends for easy and flexible mounting options. Also, the compact design allows you to mount it in different locations, including for those applications with limited spaces.

Plug in, plug out
The newer versions feature the 4-position micro receptacle. This gives the load cell greater flexibility and durability, as a damaged or cut cable can now easily be replaced, saving the user time and resources.
The 4-position micro cable connector is shown here with the keyed mating face to reduce mating errors. The image shows another model.
Eliminating moisture
The assembly process of the 4-position micro receptacle version eliminates moisture ingress through the connection location. With an IP67 rating, the product can withstand submersion in one meter of water for at least 30 minutes. This opens up more options for applications as it will allow outdoor usage in wet, rainy, or highly humid conditions.

Conductor Braided Shielded Clear PVC
A braided shield physically covers the signal wires while blocking any interference from stray magnetic and static electric fields. Additionally, the metallic load cell housing blocks all interference and unwanted environmental conditions that would reduce the accuracy and reliability.

Robust construction
The seam-welded stainless steel body provides outstanding strength and corrosion resistance and provides enhanced protection against physical damage in addition to withstanding other harsh environmental conditions. A special heat treatment process has been applied to the flexure to improve durability, extending the life-cycle of the sensor.
Best-in-class material
The exceptional quality of this sensor makes it highly durable and reliable. Its body is made of aerospace-grade 17-4 precipitation hardened stainless steel, which provides high strength, high hardness, and corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range.

Calibration included
The LCM300 has been tested by FUTEK’s world-class calibration department and is NIST traceable. We can also reduce hidden costs and setup time by calibrating your sensor with FUTEK electronics of your choice. In addition, we offer calibration to ANSI Z540-1 and ISO 17025 standards upon request.
