Miniature Threaded Load Button

Compact and accurate with unique integration options

Compact and accurate with unique integration options

Description

Model LLB215 is a Miniature Load Button (Bottom Cable Exit) designed for Press, or Inline compression applications. The LLB215 Miniature Load Button (Bottom Cable Exit) model is made from a robust 17-4 PH Stainless Steel, with a subminiature 0.38 inch outside diameter. These load cells achieve great accuracy and stiffness with a Nonlinearity of ±0.5% and Deflection of 0.002” nominal. You will also find options for external matched output readily available.

The standard LLB215 Miniature Load Button (Bottom Cable Exit) can be modified or customized to meet your requirements and most capacities are in our inventory, making them available for quick delivery.

Product Highlights And Features

  • Fully internally temperature compensated (no external conditioning circuitry)
  • Subminiature / light weight
  • Low deflection / fast response
  • 17-4 PH stainless-steel construction
  • For use in compression
  • Utilizes metal foil strain gauge technology
  • Bottom cable exit

The miniature threaded load button LLB215 is an extremely accurate probe style sensor with a singular axial cable exit. With high accuracy compression force measurement being carried axially through the sensor’s threaded rod and a mechanically strain relieved interconnect cable exiting out the bottom, LLB215 allows for unique integration options with flexible mating accessories. It features FUTEK’s custom single-piece integrated sensing element with internally embedded zero balance and thermal compensation, allowing for outstanding sensor reliability and performance.

The LLB215 is an optimal choice for critical compression applications that benefit from its package of 0.38in (9.5mm) diameter and 0.17in (4.3mm) height excluding threads.

Unique integration options

The LLB215 has been specially designed for applications that require threaded mounting and a bottom axial cable exit, such as medical applications with vertical integration. The sensor is mounted using the threaded loading rod on its top side, setting it apart from other sensors in the LLB series that have a side cable exit. The top thread also allows the user to create their own end effectors to achieve the optimal loading provision for their application.

Reducing error

The custom strain element offers robust integration with the sensor case and very high accuracy and reliability. It completely eliminates inter-gauge wiring, leading to enhanced calibration performance. A customized strain element allows increased strain measurement around the active sensor element reducing reproducibility errors.

Made to be accurate

The LLB215 delivers a remarkably high natural frequency up to 31kHz which provides a fast response time that benefits accuracy and cycle time reduction for dynamic applications. The precision of the sensor is also augmented by its high stiffness, which leads to deflection as low as 0.0007in (0.017mm).

Robust construction

The aerospace-grade stainless steel body provides outstanding strength and corrosion resistance and provides enhanced protection against physical damage in addition to withstanding other harsh environmental conditions. A special heat treatment process has been applied to the flexure to improve durability, extending the life-cycle of the sensor.

Best-in-class material

The exceptional quality of this sensor makes it highly durable and reliable. Its body is made of aerospace-grade 17-4 precipitation hardened stainless steel, which provides high strength, high hardness, and corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range.

Integrated temp compensation

The sensor is fully internally temperature compensated, and no external conditioning circuitry is required, which increases accuracy without increasing the cost. It also offers flexibility for cable routing and customization of the cable length.

Moisture resistant

With an IP64 rating, the product is dustproof and can withstand splashing water from any direction. This opens up more options for applications in humid conditions.

Flexible cable

The LLB215 sensor is offered with a 29 AWG, 4-conductor cable with spiral shielding and a silicone outer jacket. The cable is highly flexible while still offering protection from outer interference.

Calibration included

Calibration included

The LLB215 has been tested by FUTEK’s world-class calibration department and is NIST traceable. We can also reduce hidden costs and setup time by calibrating your sensor with FUTEK electronics of your choice. In addition, we offer calibration to ANSI Z540-1 and ISO 17025 standards upon request.
